Poker Referral Codes
Referral Codes For Online Poker Rooms
A popular feature amongst many online poker rooms is to offer referral codes in place of bonus codes or promotion codes. For example, whereas CardSpike offers promotion codes and deposit codes, other poker rooms will opt to offer these "referral codes" instead.
What is the difference between these codes?
To be totally honest, there is no difference between your standard bonus code and referral code. They both essentially ensure that you are getting a bonus from the room when you sign up.
Many rooms will automatically deliver the initial bonus to your account after making your deposit. However, this is not the case for some rooms, so it is always best to enter a code when prompted (if you have been given one of course).
Full Tilt Poker Referral Code.
Full Tilt Poker is a prime example of a Poker room that asks players to enter a referral code. When you first sign-up to the room, you will be asked to enter a referral code for Full Tilt Poker, which will make sure that you get the top deposit bonus of 100% up to $600.
In fairness, the majority of the time you will be eligible to receive this initial deposit bonus without even having to enter a referral code upon sign-up. Nonetheless, I would be tempted to enter one any way just so that I was 100% sure that I wasn't missing out on any free bonus money.
Are their any other names for referral codes?
Here are a few examples of the different sign-up codes associated with different poker rooms.
- Bonus Code - Titan Poker
- Marketing Code - PokerStars
- Referral Code - Full Tilt Poker
- Coupon Code - CD Poker
As already mentioned, these are just the same things with different names.
Overview.
In my honest opinion, you should always try your best to get your hands on a referral code, bonus code or whatever it is you are being asked to enter when you sign up to an online poker room. The last thing you want is to find out that you are unable to receive a nice little bonus after you sign up to a room because you didn't enter a specific code upon sign-up.
The first deposit bonus is not the make or break of a good poker room - in fact it should be far from it. However, there is no need to miss out on any free bonus money if you don't have to.
